writernet is working with South Street and Reading Borough Council on Hydroponic

South Street is an Arts Centre presenting a diverse range of performing arts from both the professional and community sectors. The professional programme attracts the very best new and established names in fringe theatre, comedy, music, dance and live literature.

South Street is home to Reading Youth Theatre, Poet's Cafe and new professional company Theatre Exchange. South Street is also proud to be involved in many projects, past and present, aimed at developing performing arts both locally and regionally. These have included playwright development programme Hydroponic, New Opportunities Fund After Schools Clubs, Asian Arts Week, Berkshire Venues Consortium's 'Around the Fringes' festival, SETA's World Music Consortium and monthly local band showcase Poptoys.
